Usage

Here's how to get started with Solid RealTime to integrate and manage real-time data in your application.

Importing the library

First install the library (see the configuration corresponding to your needs for details) and import it into your project:

Basic Usage Example

This example shows, in a solid.js project, how to set up a real-time connection with Supabase:

javascript

import { createClient } from "@supabase/supabase-js";

const SUPABASE_URL = import.meta.env.VITE_SUPABASE_URL;
const SUPABASE_ANON = import.meta.env.VITE_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY;

export const supabase = createClient(SUPABASE_URL, SUPABASE_ANON);

With Firebase

You can also use Firebase for real-time updates. Here’s an example:

javascript
// Import the functions you need from the SDKs you need
import { initializeApp } from "firebase/app";
import { getFirestore } from "firebase/firestore";
// TODO: Add SDKs for Firebase products that you want to use
// https://firebase.google.com/docs/web/setup#available-libraries

// Your web app's Firebase configuration
const firebaseConfig = {
  apiKey: import.meta.env.VITE_FIREBASE_API_KEY,
  authDomain: import.meta.env.VITE_FIREBASE_AUTH_DOMAIN,
  projectId: import.meta.env.VITE_FIREBASE_PROJECT_ID,
  storageBucket: import.meta.env.VITE_FIREBASE_STORAGE_BUCKET,
  messagingSenderId: import.meta.env.VITE_FIREBASE_MESSAGING_SENDER_ID,
  appId: import.meta.env.VITE_FIREBASE_APP_ID,
};

// Initialize Firebase
const app = initializeApp(firebaseConfig);
export const db = getFirestore(app);
